2022 film Uncharted on 4K and Blu-ray in May

The 2022 film “Uncharted” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on May 10th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, based on the popular PlayStation video game series of the same title, directed by Ruben Fleischer, stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, and Tati Gabrielle.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD 2.39:1 aspect ratio video presentation and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and a digital code (copy) included with each.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases available for preorder over at Amazon.  There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release available at all retailers (pictured below) which you also can find available for preorder over at Amazon and retailer Best Buy.  This will include the physical extra of a necklace with a ring.

1971 film Shaft on 4K via Criterion Collection in June

The 1971 film “Shaft” will officially be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on June 21st via The Criterion Collection.  The film, directed by Gordon Parks, starred Richard Roundtree, Moses Gunn, Charles Cioffi, Christopher St. John, Gwenn Mitchell, Lawrence Pressman, and Victor Arnold.  The film has received a new 4K restoration.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and uncompressed Mono and Stereo sound.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect and uncompressed Mono and Stereo sound.  On both releases, the first sound mix will be the original Mono lossless mix while the second optional sound mix will be a Stereo lossless “soundtrack remastered with creative input from Isaac Hayes III” according to Criterion.

The 4K will come in the form of a “combo pack” and include its Blu-ray counterpart as well as a bonus disc (detailed below), spanning across a 3-disc set. The 2022 film adaptation of “Death on the Nile” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 5th via 20th Century Studios (Disney).  The film, based on the novel written by Agatha Christie, directed by and co-starring Kenneth Branagh, stars Tom Bateman, Annette Benning, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rosie Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound.  The 4K will come in the form of a “combo pack” including its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.  Both releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film.
