You can find the standard and SteelBook versions of the films all available for preorder now over at Amazon.  For the standard versions, just click their titles further above.  You can find the SteelBooks below with their Amazon preorder links for each.

The releases will each come in the form of just the 4K UHD Blu-ray disc and a digital code (copy) of the film.  No Blu-ray Disc counterparts will be included.  I repeat, no Blu-rays will be included with these releases.  The bonus materials will be only those included on the 4K discs.  I’ll be updating this post later with a full rundown of those contents for each film [disc].

Finally, there will NOT be an individual 4K UHD Blu-ray release of “The Godfather: Part III” but you can find that, as a bonus disc, in the previously released trilogy sets on the format.

The 1997 film “Lost Highway” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on October 11th via The Criterion Collection. The film, directed and co-written by David Lynch, starred Bill Pullman, Patricia Arquette, Balthazar Getty, Robert Blake, Gary Busey, Richard Pryor, and Robert Loggia.

This movie has received a new 4K restoration, supervised by director David Lynch. Below are some details about that from Janus Films‘ website:

“Lost Highway is presented in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1. Supervised by director David Lynch, this new digital transfer was created in 4K resolution on a Scanity film scanner from the 35 mm original camera negative. The near-field remaster of the original 5.1 soundtrack was made from the 35 mm magnetic track and mix supervised by Lynch and rerecording mixer Ronald Eng.”

Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound mixes. The 4K release will come in the form of a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart included in that set.

UPDATE:  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  Also, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray directly available for preorder over at the Criterion website.  The bonus materials set to be included with the releases are listed below.

1997 Wes Craven film Scream 2 on 4K in October

Amazon Commissions Earned

The 1997 sequel “Scream 2” seems to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in standard (pictured above) and limited edition “25th anniversary” SteelBook forms on October 4th via Paramount Home Entertainment, according to retailers.  The film, directed by Wes Craven, starred Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, Jerry O’Connell, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Joshua Jackson, Timothy Olyphant, Liev Schreiber, Jada Pinkett Smith, Omar Epps, and Heather Graham.

As this title has not yet been officially announced, that I can tell, the tech specs for the 4K releases have not yet been detailed but you can for sure expect a 2160p video presentation with at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range and likely a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix.  The releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray counterpart included as well as a digital code (copy) of the film.  The bonus materials should include all of the previous extras found on the Blu-ray and perhaps some new content, but no word on that yet.  Stay tuned for an update.  In the meantime, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) available for preorder over at Amazon.  The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder as well over at Amazon but it lacks artwork at the moment.
