The Last Drive-In Double Feature Blu-ray in October

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will get a Double Feature Blu-ray Disc release on October 14th via Shudder. This double feature includes films, both directed by Joe Lynch. First off, you get “Suitable Flesh” (2023), and next you get “Mayhem” (2017). In between the films, you’ll get all of the footage that was shown during the Shudder streams of these episodes of the show. The Shudder original series stars John Bloom (a.k.a. “Joe Bob Briggs”) and Diana Prince (a.k.a. “Darcy the Mail Girl”). The show is currently in its seventh season. These two episodes aired during seasons 6 and 2, in order of the film’s titles.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 1.78:1 and 2.35:1 aspect ratios with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound. The full runtime is 4 hours and 55 minutes, with extra time added to the movies for each, ensuring you get the show bits. Hopefully, we will see more of these home video releases of “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” soon from Shudder.

The Life of Chuck on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2024 film “The Life of Chuck” is set to release on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 30th via NEON, distributed by Decal Releasing. The film was both directed and written by Mike Flanagan, based on a short story by Stephen King. It stars Tom Hiddleston, Jacob Tremblay, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Mia Sara, Mark Hamill, with David Dastmalchian and Matthew Lillard. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in various aspect ratios (2.39:1, 2.0:1, & 1.85:1) with HDR10 and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. Jurassic World Rebirth 4K and Blu-ray September

The 2025 sequel “Jurassic World: Rebirth” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 9th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. A 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured above) will also be released. Gareth Edwards directed, and David Koepp wrote the screenplay. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, accompanied by Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will both come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. All of the physical media releases of the film will include a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Peanuts: 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection will be released on Blu-ray on October 7th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Details about this upcoming release are below, taken from the press release.

“For the first time, this commemorative collection brings together nearly five decades of beloved Peanuts TV specials, offering fans the ultimate way to revisit their favorite moments with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the entire Peanuts gang.

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2025 DC animated movie “Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 23rd, distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Juan Jose Meza-Leon directed and co-wrote the film. Its English voice cast includes Jay Hernandez and Raymond Cruz. The Spanish voice cast includes Horacio García Rojas, Omar Chaparro, and Álvaro Morte.

The 1997 film “Spawn” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in Limited Edition releases on October 7th via Arrow Video. Mark A.Z. Dippé directed and co-wrote the movie, which was based on the comic book character created by Todd McFarlane. It starred Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo, Martin Sheen, Theresa Randle, Nicol Williamson, and D.B. Sweeney.

This motion picture has received restorations of both the Director’s Cut and Theatrical Cut from the original camera negatives (OCN).
