1989 film Christmas Vacation on 4K in November

The 1989 film “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 1st via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, according to numerous retail sources.  The film, written by the legendary late John Hughes and directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, starred Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Juliette Lewis, Johnny Galecki, Randy Quaid, Miriam Flynn, John Randolph, Diane Ladd, E.G. Marshall, Doris Roberts, Mae Questel, William Hickey, Nicholas Guest, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound as well as 2.0 Stereo (presumably also lossless).  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as include a digital code (copy) of the film which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon as well as retailers Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.  It’s also worth noting for our UK audience that the film will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray there on 7 November and is available now for preorder over at Amazon UK.  The bonus materials will be all just the previous DVD and Blu-ray extras ported over.  These limited extras include:

1997 film Mousehunt makes its Blu-ray debut in February

The 1997 film “MouseHunt” is finally making its debut to Blu-ray Disc on February 2nd, 2021, via Paramount. The film, directed by Gore Verbinski and written by Adam Rifkin, starred Nathan Lane, Lee Evans, Vicki Lewis, Maury Chaykin, Eric Christmas, Michael Jeter, Debra Christofferson, William Hickey, and Christopher Walken. UPDATE: The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p presentation in the OAR (original aspect ratio) of 1.85:1 with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.
