The 2004 film Ray is coming to 4K in February

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original 35mm camera negative, approved by Director Taylor Hackford. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The audio format and configuration(s) have yet to be detailed by Kino Lorber, but stay tuned for an update. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is not yet available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update on that very soon. In the meantime, you can preorder directly via the Kino Lorber website. The bonus materials included with this release are listed below, sorted by disc.

Superman 2025 on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2025 film “Superman” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 23rd via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. James Gunn directed and co-wrote the DC Studios film. It stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. The film also stars Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. It’s certainly worth noting that the movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Both physical media format releases will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured further above) available. It’s currently unavailable for preorder at Amazon, but a placeholder exists. Stay tuned for an update on that. However, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder now at Amazon. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are also available at online retailer GRUV. “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Season One” on Blu-ray in June

The TV series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Season One starring John Krasinski is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 4th via Paramount, according to an early alert to retailers. This show, which airs exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, was created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland. The supporting cast includes Wendell Pierce, John Hoogenakker, and Abbie Cornish. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not been detailed yet but stay tuned for an update.

UPDATE: The Blu-ray Disc set is now available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Lastly, despite airing in 4K, it would appear there are no plans for a 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the show’s first season (yet).
