1952 Kubrick film Fear and Desire on 4K in February

The 1952 war drama “Fear and Desire” directed by the legendary Stanley Kubrick will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc (in a “Special Edition”) on February 27th via KL Studio Classics (Kino Lorber). Both cuts, theatrical and the “Uncut Premiere Version” of the movie have received a NEW 4K Restorations in collaboration with the U.S. Library of Congress “from the 35mm Camera Negative and Fine Grain.” The film starred Frank Silvera, Paul Mazursky, Virginia Leith, Kenneth Harp, Stephen Coit, Toba Kubrick, and David Allen.
Tech specs for the release include a Black and White 2160p video presentation in the 1.37:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless Mono sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that a Blu-ray will also be included, in addition to the 4K disc.
