IMAX film Space Station on 4K UHD Blu-ray in July

The 2002 Toni Myers directed IMAX original film Space Station is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 9th, via Mill Creek Entertainment. The short film, also known as “Space Station 3D” during its original release, is narrated by Tom Cruise and features mostly footage shot onboard the International Space Station (ISS) by NASA astronauts. The tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video from a new 4K transfer in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound which has been IMAX Enhanced. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the short film. The IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. EDITOR NOTE: This IMAX film has previously been released on the Blu-ray format first in 2008 and then also on the Blu-ray 3D format in 2013. No 3D version will be included on this release. Also, the bonus movie originally included (“Mission to Mir”) will not be on this release.
