Ace Ventura: Pet Detective comes to 4K in July

The 1994 film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective comes July 29th to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook. These releases will be part of Shout! Studios‘ Shout Select line. Tom Shadyac directed the movie, which starred Jim Carrey. It also starred Courteney Cox, Sean Young, Tone Loc, Dan Marino, and Noble Willingham.

The movie has received a new 4K transfer from the 35mm original camera negative. The technical specifications include a 2160p 4K video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range. It will also include lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound. Both 4K releases will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included (featuring the new 4K transfer).

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is sold out on Amazon right now, but check back for an update. Also, the 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook are available for preorder at Walmart. Plus, you can preorder the 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook directly from Shout! Factory store.

Liar Liar gets a 25th Anniversary Blu-ray in January

The 1997 comedy “Liar Liar“ will be getting a “25th Anniversary Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on January 18th, 2022 via Shout Select (Shout! Factory). The film, directed by Tom Shadyac, starred Jim Carrey, Maura Tierney, Justin Cooper, Cary Elwes, Anne Haney, Jennifer Tilly, Swoosie Kurtz, Jason Bernard, and Amanda Donohoe. This will be spine number 127 in the Shout Select line.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround and 2.0 Stereo sound. Brian Banks comes to Blu-ray in November

The 2019 biographical sports drama “Brian Banks“ starring Aldis Hodge is coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 12th via Universal. The film, based on a true story & directed by Tom Shadyac, co-stars Greg Kinnear, Tiffany Dupont, Sherri Shepherd, and Melanie Liburd. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound, on a BD-50. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.
