Mean Girls [2004] gets a standard 4K in February

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The release will include a digital code (copy) compatible with AppleTV and Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU).

The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials included on the release are listed below.

The 1993 film Coneheads comes to 4K in August

The 1993 film “Coneheads” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray on August 19th via KL Studio Classics. Steve Barron directed the movie. It starred Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Michelle BurkeAdam SandlerChris Farley, and David Spade. Additionally, it co-starred Laraine NewmanGarrett MorrisPhil HartmanTim MeadowsKevin NealonJan Hooks, and Jon Lovitz.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100. The tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

2004 version of Mean Girls is coming to 4K in April

According to retailers, the 2004 original version of the film “Mean Girls” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition release on April 30th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, celebrating its 20th anniversary, was directed by Mark Waters, and starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, and Amanda Seyfried.

The release’s tech specs and bonus materials have yet to be announced but stay tuned for an update. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder now over at Amazon. This will be a limited edition release with special packaging, shown below.

Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage on Blu-ray February

The 2023 film “Dream Scenario” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 27th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment, according to retailers.  The film, written & directed by Kristoffer Borgli, stars Nicolas Cage, Lily Bird, Julianne Nicholson, Jessica Clement, Tim Meadows, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Dylan Gelula, and Michael Cera.  It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have yet to be detailed but stay tuned for an update on that soon.  You can expect 1080p HD video in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio as well as lossless surround sound, likely in a 5.1 configuration.  Below, after the break, you can find the trailer for the film.
