The 1990 film Edward Scissorhands comes to 4K

The movie has received a new restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as Dolby Atmos sound, all on a BD-66 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc set “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included, as well as a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director Tim Burton. The tech specs 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 surround sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio featuring DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 surround sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon as well as directly via Criterion’s website. The bonus materials set to be included with the releases are listed below.

Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride on 4K in September

The 2005 film “Corpse Bride” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 23rd. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment will be distributing the releases. Tim Burton co-wrote and co-directed the stop-motion animated film with the help of co-director Mike Johnson. It featured the voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Tracey Ullman, Christopher Lee, and Albert Finney.

The 2024 film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 19th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Tim Burton, stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Jenna Ortega, and Willem Dafoe. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes.

The TV series “Wednesday: Season One” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 26th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The show, as seen on Netflix, produced by Tim Burton, features a cast that includes Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Fred Armisen.

Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and Walmart.  No bonus material nor a digital copy will be included with this release.

2003 Tim Burton directed film Big Fish comes to 4K in May

The 2003 film “Big Fish” directed by Tim Burton is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 4th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, based on the novel by Daniel Wallace, starred Ewan McGregorAlbert FinneyBilly Crudup, Jessica Lange, Helena Bonham Carter, Alison Lohman, Missi Pyle, Steve Buscemi, and Danny DeVito. This movie has received a new 4K remaster from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound as well as the original 5.1 lossless theatrical sound mix (in DTS-HD Master Audio). The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film.
