Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 15th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzieMatt SmithMichael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-50 disc.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack,” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

RUMOR: Last Night in Soho on 4K and Blu-ray January

RUMOR time, folks. It appears that the 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 18th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to a retail source. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzie, Matt SmithMichael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not yet been detailed, as it has not even officially been announced by the studio. So, I’m only considering this a rumor until it is officially announced. However, as mentioned, one dependable source is indicating the aforementioned release date on physical media. Both releases it appears will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning the 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy of the film). You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon. And, just in case Amazon decides to remove the release date, I’ve decided to take screenshots of each listing.

M. Night Shyamalan’s Old on 4K and Blu-ray October

The 2021 film “Old” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 19th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, written & directed by M. Night Shyamalan, stars Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Alex Wolff, Thomasin McKenzie, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Eliza Scanlen, Aaron Pierre, Embeth Davidtz, and Emun Elliott.

The 2019 comedy “Jojo Rabbit” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 18th, via Fox. The film, directed by Taika Waititi and nominated for a total of six Academy Awards, features a cast of Roman Griffin DavisThomasin McKenzieScarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson, Alfie Allen, Stephen Merchant, and Taika Waititi. The film has received much critical acclaim during its theatrical run, in fact, at the time of writing this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come as a “combo pack” with it getting the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K and Blu-ray will include a digital code (copy of the film). At this time neither the 4K UHD Blu-ray or the Blu-ray Disc are available for preorder over at Amazon but stay tuned for an update. Debra Granik film “Leave No Trace” with Ben Foster comes to Blu-ray in October

The 2018 Debra Granik directed film Leave No Trace starring Thomasin McKenzie and Ben Foster is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 2nd via Universal. The film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes, with an astounding perfect 100% rating. Safe to say that critics all seemed to love this film. Tech specs for the release include full 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The title is now available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.
