Killer Klowns from Outer Space arrives on 4K in May

The 1988 cult classic film “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 14th via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The movie, celebrating its 35th anniversary, was directed by Stephen Chiodo, and starred Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, John Vernon, Michael S. Siegel, Peter Licassi, and Royal Dano.

This release has received a new 4K scan of the original camera negative. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo audio configurations. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

Weird Science Special Edition on Blu-ray in July

The 1985 John Hughes film Weird Science is getting a “Special Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on July 23rd via Arrow Video. The movie starred Anthony Michael HallIlan Mitchell-Smith, Kelly LeBrock, Bill Paxton, Suzanne Snyder, Judie Aronson, and Robert Downey Jr. Tech specs for the new Blu-ray include 1080p video from a new 4K restoration with LPCM 2.0 Stereo and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will include both the original theatrical cut (94 minutes) and the extended version (97 minutes) through seamless branching. The Special Edition Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. There also will be a Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-ray Disc release of the film, which you can available to pre-order over at Amazon as well. “Return of the Living Dead Part II” Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Gets Detailed

Scream Factory (Shout! Factory) has just detailed the upcoming August 14th release of “Return of the Living Dead Part IICollector’s Edition Blu-ray Disc. Tech specs have yet to be confirmed, but I have reached out to Shout! Factory for some definitive info. So, stay tuned on that side. We do know however that this 1988 film will come to us remastered  (via “scans from the interpositive” film negative). This is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.
