Disney’s Frozen II on 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2019 CG animated sequel “Frozen II” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 25th, via Disney. The film, co-directed by Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee, features the voice talents of Kristen BellIdina MenzelJosh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, and Jason Ritter. The film, nominated for one Academy Award (for best song), received mixed reactions from critics and at the time of writing (barely) carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the same 2.39:1 aspect and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting the DVD counterpart, and a digital code (copy) of the film included with each. UPDATED: The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both are now listed for order (yes, order) over at Amazon. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for order over at retailer Best Buy. Speaking of Best Buy, they will be getting an Exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook for the release (pictured below) which you can also now find available for order.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 comes to 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 animated sequel “The Angry Birds Movie 2” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 12th via Sony. The film, based on the video game (“Angry Birds”) and directed by Thurop Van Orman, features the voice talents Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Danny McBride, Peter Dinklage, and Pete Davidson. Tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray releases have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update on that. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at Amazon. “The Predator” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in December

The 2018 film “The Predator” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Fox. The film, directed by Shane Black, features a cast of Boyd HolbrookTrevante RhodesJacob TremblayKeegan-Michael KeyOlivia MunnSterling K. BrownThomas JaneAlfie AllenAugusto Aguilera, and Jake Busey.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include 2160p in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The Blu-ray tech specs include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and both getting a Digital Copy of the film included. 2018 film “The Predator” coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray this winter

In an early alert to retailers we’ve got an indication when to expect the new 2018 Shane Black directed film “The Predator” on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc, and that is sometime this winter (before the year end) via Fox Home Entertainment. This isn’t even a rumor, it’s stated in the working (not final) cover art pictured above. The film just hit theaters today, so go out and give it a watch tonight. No information yet regarding the technical specs or bonus materials for either the 4K or Blu-ray releases. I’d personally speculate you’ll see this get a December release, but stay tuned for any rumors or official update on the exact release date.

It is known that retailer Best Buy will be getting an Exclusive Steelbook for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the film (pictured below). You can PRE-ORDER this 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook now over at Best Buy. Again, no exact release date has been announced (yet). You can also PRE-ORDER the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc versions of the film over at retailer Best Buy. Lastly, it’s worth noting that Amazon and other retailers don’t seem to be listing it yet. Drew Pearce film “Hotel Artemis” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in October

The 2018 Drew Pearce written and directed film “Hotel Artemis” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 9th via Global Road Entertainment (likely to be distributed by Universal). This news comes via multiple early alerts to  retailers. The film, currently still in theaters, includes a pretty stellar cast such as Jodie Foster, Jeff GoldblumSofia Boutella, Sterling K. BrownBrian Tyree HenryJenny Slate, Zachary QuintoCharlie Day, and Dave Bautista – to just name a few. Tech specs for the releases have not yet been fully detailed, nor have the bonus materials (if any) set to be included, but stay tuned for an update. Both releases come in the form of a “combo pack” with 4K release getting a Blu-ray, and the Blu-ray release getting a DVD, of the film also included.
