The Brutalist comes to 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2024 film “The Brutalist” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on March 24th via A24. The movie, directed & co-written by Brady Corbet, starred Adrien Brody (in an Oscar-winning performance). It co-starred starred Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, and Stacy Martin. It’s certainly worth noting this film is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) at Rotten Tomatoes. The movie won three “Oscars.” It won “Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score).” It also won “Best Achievement in Cinematography.” The movie was nominated for a total of nine Academy Awards.

According to A24, the transfer is derived from the original 35mm negatives with VistaVision footage scanned at 6K. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. Consumers also can preorder directly via the A24 Shop. The bonus materials included in both versions are listed below.

The 2018 Brady Corbet written & directed film “Vox Lux“ starring Natalie Portman and Jude Law is coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 5th, via Universal. The film, a musical drama, co-stars Stacy Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Raffey Cassidy, and features Willem Dafoe as the narrator. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The upcoming Blu-ray is available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Bonus materials set to be included on the release, in addition to a Digital Copy, are listed below.
