The Choral starring Ralph Fiennes on Blu-ray in March

The 2025 film “The Choral” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 17th via Sony Pictures Classics (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment).

Nicholas Hytner directed the movie. It stars Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, Simon Russell Beale, and Thomas Howes.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc.

The Da Vinci Code gets a 4K SteelBook release in May

The 2006 film “The Da Vinci Code“ will get a “20th Anniversary Edition“ 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release on May 19th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Ron Howard directed the film, based on the novel [of the same title] written by Dan Brown. It starred Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Jรผrgen Prochnow, Paul Bettany, and Jean Reno.

NOTE: This movie has been previously released [back in 2016] on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format. However, this time around it’s going to come in its correct 2.39:1 aspect ratio as well as both the theatrical (148-minute) and extended (174-minute) versions of the film on individual 4K discs. Also, the previous 4K release was presented in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio, incorrectly, as it was intended for a 2.39:1 aspect. That has been corrected.

The tech specs for the 20th Anniversary Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook included a 2160p video presentation in the [intended] 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range, along with Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.

UPDATED: The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is now available for preorder at Amazon.

The release will arrive as a 3-disc set, including a Blu-ray with bonus materials, listed below. Also, the two different versions of the film will be housed on two separate 4K UHD Blu-ray discs, as shown below.

Disc 1 (4K UHD Blu-ray) Theatrical:

The 2025 “remake” of “Anaconda” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on March 17th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Tom Gormican directed and co-wrote the movie, based on the 1997 film of the same title. It stars Paul Rudd and Jack Black. The supporting cast includes Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The show, which airs on AppleTV, has run for four seasons, with a fifth coming soon. Its cast includes Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey W. Johnson, Coral Peรฑa, and Wrenn Schmidt.

“Cobra Kai: The Complete Series“ is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 3rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The show, established as a follow-up to the original “Karate Kid” films, ran from 2018 through 2025 for a total of six seasons, primarily on Netflix. It starred Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Its supporting cast included Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueรฑa, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, and Martin Kove. The tech specs for the Blu-ray set include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across a 13-disc set.

EDITORIAL NOTE: This is the very first time in the United States that this show has come to Blu-ray Disc. Stateside, the show has received individual DVD releases for the first five seasons. The final (sixth) season will also get a DVD release on March 3rd. For now, this set will be the only way to own the show in HD on physical media in its entirety. Eventually you will see individual releases for each season, one would think, but that’s only based on my own speculation.

Richard Pryor… Here and Now comes to 4K in February

The 1983 stand-up comedy TV special “Richard Pryor… Here and Now“ is set to be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

It’s most certainly worth noting that Richard Pryor actually directed the special himself, which he co-wrote with the late great Paul Mooney.

The tech specs on 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound, on a BD-66 disc. It seems no digital code (copy) or bonus materials will be included on this release.

The 2025 docudrama “Nuremberg“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 10th via Sony Pictures Classics (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment). James Vanderbilt directed and co-wrote the adaptation. It stars Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, John Slattery, Leo Woodall, Mark O’Brien, and Richard E. Grant.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart. No bonus materials will be included with this release. Also, there are no plans for a 4K UHD Blu-ray release, despite the movie getting a 4K digital release.

Sisu: Road to Revenge on 4K and Blu-ray in February

Jalmari Helander wrote and directed the movie. It stars Jorma Tommila, Richard Brake, and Stephen Lang. It’s worth noting that this motion picture is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
