John Woo film Bullet in the Head on 4K in January

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), accompanied by lossless DTS-HD Master Audio Mono in Cantonese and English. Newly translated English subtitles will optionally be available for the Cantonese language track.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray set is now available for preorder at Amazon and online retailer GRUV. Shout! Factory actually moved all of [their] online sales from the old website to GRUV, as of today. There’s no preorder listing yet at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update later. You can also preorder the 4K UHD Blu-ray at Barnes & Noble.

The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Also, the bonus materials included with this 3-disc set are listed below, sorted by disc.

Ip Man The Complete Collection comes to 4K in December

The “Ip Man: The Complete Collection” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 15th via Well Go USA. The set includes the four films “Ip Man” (2008), “Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grand Master” (2010), “Ip Man 3” (2015), and “Ip Man 4: The Finale” (2019). All four of the films, directed by Wilson Yip and starring Donnie Yen, have been remastered in 4K. The tech specs for the 8-disc set include a 4K presentation in original 2.35:1 aspect ratios, for all of the films, with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby Atmos sound in Cantonese. There will also be audio options for English, Spanish, and even French (on one film), as well as subtitles in English. You can now find this 4K UHD Blu-ray set available for preorder over at Amazon.

The 8-disc set will come as a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include its Blu-ray Disc counterparts as well. The limited-edition set will also include a double-sided poster and a compendium booklet (as pictured below with the packaging).

The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed further below, after the break, for each film. These will all be included on the Blu-ray Disc counterparts for each.

2018 Chinese film “Operation Red Sea” from Dante Lam on Blu-ray July

Well Go USA Entertainment has announced plans to bring the 2018 Chinese film “Operation Red Sea” by acclaimed Hong Kong director Dante Lam to Blu-ray Disc on July 24th. The film seems to have received a warm reception from critics, as it carries a 83% (out of 100%) rating over on Rotten Tomatoes.  Tech specs for the release include full 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and both DTS:X and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio in Mandarin language with English & Chinese subtitles. The Blu-ray Disc is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release include Deleted Scenes and Trailers.
