Thunderbolts* on 4K and Blu-ray in July

The 2025 film “Thunderbolts*” officially arrives on 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray Disc on July 29th. The releases will be via Marvel Studios, owned and distributed by Disney. Jake Schreier directed this latest film in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe.” It stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Lewis Pullman, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It’s certainly worth noting this film is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound. The 4K releases will both be 2-disc “combo pack” sets with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases will include a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, or the Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. Stay tuned for an update on that.

The bonus materials set to be included with the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases are listed below.

Finally, it’s worth noting that a Blu-ray “pop-up” edition will also be available as an exclusive at retailer Walmart. It’s not yet available for preorder, but stay tuned for an update. Further below, after the break, you can find a promo trailer for the home video releases of this movie.

“The Last Full Measure” comes to Blu-ray in April

The 2020 film “The Last Full Measure“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 21st, via Lionsgate. The film, inspired by a true story, written & directed by Todd Robinson, included a cast of Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Imperioli, and the late Peter Fonda. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audio. This release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and Target. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

Both “Captain America” sequels on 4K UHD Blu-ray late April

The two Marvel Studios sequels “Captain America: The Winter Soldier“ and “Captain America: Civil War“ are both coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 23rd, via Disney – according to an early alert to retailers. The titles had been said to be coming but we now finally get them both listed with release date and pre-order listings for each over at Best Buy.

UPDATE: The two titles on 4K are both now listed for pre-order over at Amazon – HERE and HERE. Those listings even include glimpses at the back of the packaging where we get the tech specs. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be presented in the 2.40:1 aspect (as originally on Blu-ray), while “Captain America: Civil War” will be presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio (unlike the original Blu-ray). Both films will receive HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The bonus materials set to be included for each film can be found on the original Blu-ray releases. No new extras will be included on the 4K discs.

Each release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc included along with a digital copy of the film.

There will also be Steelbook releases for both of the films on 4K which will be Best Buy exclusives. You can’t pre-order those yet but they have placeholder pages HERE and HERE.
