The 1991 film Thunderheart comes to 4K in January

The 1991 film “Thunderheart“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 13th, 2026, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Michael Apted directed the film, which starred the late Val Kilmer, Sam Shepard, and Graham Greene. It co-starred Fred Ward, Fred Thompson, and Sheila Tousey.
The cinematographer Roger Deakins has approved this 4K presentation. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 surround sound. This release will come with a digital copy, likely compatible with Movies Anywhere. Although that has yet to be confirmed.

The 1989 film “Steel Magnolias” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 23rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Herbert Ross, starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts, Tom Skerritt, Dylan McDermott, Kevin J. O’Connor, and Sam Shepard.
Newly remastered from the original camera negative. The tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround mix. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film

The 1985 film “Fool for Love” will be getting a Blu-ray Disc release on June 8th via Kino Lorber. The film, directed by Robert Altman, starred Sam Shepard, Kim Basinger, Harry Dean Stanton, and Randy Quaid. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with a Mono 2.0 sound mix — likely in an uncompressed format, although not yet confirmed.
