The 1999 film adaptation of the Stephen King novel “The Green Mile“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 22nd, 2022 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed & screenplay adapted by Frank Darabont, starred Tom Hanks, David Morse, Bonnie Hunt, James Cromwell, Sam Rockwell, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) compatible with Movies Anywhere. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and at retailer Best Buy. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

Jojo Rabbit comes to 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2019 comedy “Jojo Rabbit” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 18th, via Fox. The film, directed by Taika Waititi and nominated for a total of six Academy Awards, features a cast of Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson, Alfie Allen, Stephen Merchant, and Taika Waititi. The film has received much critical acclaim during its theatrical run, in fact, at the time of writing this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come as a “combo pack” with it getting the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K and Blu-ray will include a digital code (copy of the film). At this time neither the 4K UHD Blu-ray or the Blu-ray Disc are available for preorder over at Amazon but stay tuned for an update. Galaxy Quest Anniversary Steelbook September
The 1999 film “Galaxy Quest“ will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with an Exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook available at retailer Best Buy on September 21st, via Paramount. The film, directed by Dean Parisot, starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell. Tech specs remain identical to the previously Blu-ray of the film, with 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound. This Blu-ray Steelbook is now available for pre-order over at Best Buy. This version has been deemed the “20th Anniversary Never Give Up Never Surrender Edition” and can be seen further in detail below.

Charlie’s Angels (2000) comes to 4K October
The 2000 film adaptation of “Charlie’s Angels“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd via Sony. The film, based on the TV series of the same title and directed by McG, starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell, Tim Curry, Kelly Lynch, John Forsythe, Crispin Glover, LL Cool J, Tom Green, and Luke Wilson. Tech specs for the 4K (although vague in the press release) would seem to include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio from a new scan with the HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound and even the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix.

The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that you will also get a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. The 2019 film “The Best of Enemies“ starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell is coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 2nd via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film, directed by Robin Bissell, co-stars Babou Ceesay, Nick Searcy, Wes Bentley, and Anne Heche. Tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been detailed but you can very likely expect 1080p video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. Stay tuned for a confirmation on that.
