The 1977 film A Bridge Too Far comes to 4K in March

The 1977 war epic “A Bridge Too Far“ will arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 24th via KL Studio Classics (Kino Lorber).

Richard Attenborough directed the movie. It starred Gene Hackman, Robert Redford, Sean Connery, Michael Caine, James Caan, Dirk Bogarde, Edward Fox, Elliott Gould, and Anthony Hopkins. It co-starred Hardy Kruger, Laurence Olivier, Ryan O’Neal, Maximilian Schell, Liv Ullmann, Wolfgang Preiss, Jeremy Kemp, Ben Cross, Denholm Elliott, Arthur Hill, and John Ratzengerger.

The motion picture has undergone a 4K scan from the original 35mm camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The audio format(s) and configuration(s) haven’t been officially announced, but stay tuned for an update. The release will be a 2-disc “combo pack” that includes its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.

The 1975 film Barry Lyndon comes to 4K in July

The 1975 film “Barry Lyndon” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 8th via The Criterion Collection. Stanley Kubrick directed the film. The movie starred Ryan O’Neal, Marisa Berenson, Patrick Magee, Hardy Krüger, and Steven Berkoff. It’s most certainly worth noting that this film is still (to this day) “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie has received a 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will also include an uncompressed LPCM Mono mix and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mix.. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and an additional Blu-ray with extras.

1973 film Paper Moon on Criterion 4K and Blu-ray

The 1973 film “Paper Moon” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 26th via The Criterion Collection. The film, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, starred Ryan O’Neal, Tatum O’Neal, Madeline Kahn, John Hillerman, P.J. Johnson, and Jessie Lee Fulton.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p Black & White video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and LPCM Uncompressed Mono sound. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Love Story gets Paramount Presents Blu-ray in February

The 1970 film “Love Story” will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new Blu-ray Disc release on February 9th, 2021 via Paramount Presents. This will be spine number #15 in the Paramount Presents series of Blu-ray releases. Note, this film had previously been released on the Blu-ray format back in 2012. The film, directed by Arthur Hiller, starred Ali MacGraw, Ryan O’Neal, John Marley, Ray Milland, and Tommy Lee Jones. This upcoming Blu-ray release will feature a new restoration from a new 4K transfer. There’s no specific info regarding the tech specs yet for the release but stay tuned for a possible update on that. UPDATE: You can now find this upcoming Paramount Presents Blu-ray release available to preorder over at Amazon.
