The 2025 film Nuremberg comes to Blu-ray in February

The 2025 docudrama “Nuremberg“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 10th via Sony Pictures Classics (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment). James Vanderbilt directed and co-wrote the adaptation. It stars Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, John Slattery, Leo Woodall, Mark O’Brien, and Richard E. Grant.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart. No bonus materials will be included with this release. Also, there are no plans for a 4K UHD Blu-ray release, despite the movie getting a 4K digital release.

The 2001 film A Beautiful Mind gets a 4K in February

The 2001 film “A Beautiful Mind“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 3rd via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Ron Howard directed the movie, which won four Academy Awards, including “Best Picture” and “Best Director.” It starred Russell Crowe, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Christopher Plummer, Paul Bettany, and Adam Goldberg.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will be a 2-disc set, as a “combo pack,” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital code (copy) compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The Quick and the Dead 4K SteelBook in October

The 1995 film “The Quick and the Dead” will get a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release on October 7th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Sam Raimi directed and produced the film. It starred Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, and Leonardo DiCaprio. It co-starred Keith David, Roberts Blossom, Kevin Conway, Lance Henriksen, Pat Hingle, Gary Sinise, and Tobin Bell.

This release will be to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. NOTE: This film has been previously released on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format, back in 2018. However, that release only included the HDR10 form of high dynamic range, and this will also include Dolby Vision for the first time on physical media. That being said, tech specs for 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere.

You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook now available for preorder at Amazon and at retailer Walmart. The only bonus material included with this release consists of 7 Deleted Scenes and the Theatrical Trailer. No new extras will be featured.

Cinderella Man is coming to 4K in September

The 2005 film “Cinderella Man“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 16th, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Ron Howard directed and produced the film along with Brian Grazer. It starred Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti, Craig Bierko, Bruce McGill, and Paddy Considine. The movie was nominated for a total of three Academy Awards. It’s also worth noting that it holds a “Certified Fresh” rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 along with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 2003 film “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on August 5th via Disney (20th Century Studios). Peter Weir directed and co-wrote the movie. It starred Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany, James D’Arcy, Chris Larkin, and Billy Boyd. It’s certainly worth noting that, even to this day, this movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie has been restored and remastered from the original elements. The 2022 Marvel Studios sequel “Thor: Love and Thunder” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 27th via Disney, according to retailers.  The film, directed by Taika Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and the director himself (Taika Waititi).

The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound.
