The 1997 film Jackie Brown on 4K in January

The 1997 film “Jackie Brown” will get a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on January 21st via Lionsgate. The film was written & directed by Quentin Tarantino. It starred Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, Chris Tucker, and Robert De Niro. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the standard 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. This 4K will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy of the movie.
You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and retailer Walmart. The bonus materials set to be included with this release are listed below.

The 1996 horror film “Uncle Sam“ is officially coming to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format on June 21st via Blue Underground. The film, directed by William Lustig and written by the late Larry Cohen, starred Bo Hopkins, Timothy Bottoms, Robert Forster, P.J. Soles, William Smith, and Isaac Hayes.
This comes from a new 4K restoration, as noted below.
“… UNCLE SAM in a sparkling new 25th Anniversary restoration, scanned in 4K 16-bit from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, loaded with illuminating Extras!”
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. NOTE: This release only includes a 4K disc and not the Blu-ray Disc.

1980 film Alligator on 4K UHD Blu-ray in February

The 1980 horror film “Alligator“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 22nd, 2022 via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory), in the form of a “Collector’s Edition” release. The film, directed by Lewis Teague, starred Robert Forster, Robin Riker, Michael V. Gazzo, Dean Jagger, Jack Carter, Sydney Lassick, Perry Lang, and Henry Silva.
The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been announced, but stay tuned for an update later on. It is known that the release will come in the form of a 3-disc “combo pack” meaning you’ll get a Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as another Blu-ray likely entirely filled with extras (bonus materials). Across those, you’ll get two different cuts of the film.

The 2001 film “Mulholland Drive“ is officially coming to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format on November 16th via The Criterion Collection. The film, written & directed by David Lynch, starred Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Justin Theroux, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lori Heuring, Charles Croughwell, Mark Pellegrino, and Robert Forster.
The movie has received a 4K restoration that was supervised by David Lynch the cinematographer Peter Deming, as detailed below.

The film, written by, directed by, and starring Jim Cummings, co-stars Riki Lindhome, Chloe East, and the late Robert Forster in his final role. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. You cannot yet find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, but stay tuned for an update on that.
