Marvel’s Eternals comes to 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2021 Marvel Studios film “Eternals” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 15th, 2022 via Disney. The film, directed and co-written by Chloé Zhao, stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound. The 4K release of the film will come in the form of a “combo pack” including the Blu-ray counterpart, and both 4K and Blu-ray physical versions will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, of all places, but there’s no listing yet for the Blu-ray. Alternatively, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy, where they also will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below).

UPDATE: retailer Target will be getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray exclusive “Art Edition” release, which is now available for preorder (pictured below).

The bonus materials set to be included with both the 4K and Blu-ray physical releases are listed below.

Sam Mendes film “1917” on Blu-ray and 4K March

The 2019 Sam Mendes directed Academy Award-winning film “1917” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 24th, via Universal. The film, nominated for a total of 10 and winner of 3 Oscars, starred Dean-Charles ChapmanGeorge MacKayDaniel Mays, Andrew Scott, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Richard Madden, and Benedict Cumberbatch. This film was very well-received by both critics and moviegoers as, at the time of writing, it carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes.

UPDATE: This title has, as of today (2/21), been officially announced by Universal. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray includes 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-100, in HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-50, with Dolby Atmos sound. The bonus materials set to be included are listed below.

Rocketman comes to 4K and Blu-ray in August

The 2019 musical/bio-pic “Rocketman” starring Taron Egerton is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 27th via Paramount. The film is based on the real-life story of musician Elton John and directed by Dexter Fletcher. Rocketman co-stars Jamie BellRichard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and each getting a digital copy (code) included of the film itself.
