The Bad Guys 2 on 4K and Blu-ray in October

The 2025 DreamWorks Animation sequel “The Bad Guys 2” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on October 7th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The movie was co-directed by Pierre Perifel and JP Sans. This features the voice talents of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, and Awkwafina. Its voice cast co-stars Zazie Beetz, Lily Singh, Alex Borstein, and Richard Ayoade. It’s worth mentioning that this film is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on audience ratings) at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray physical media releases will also feature a digital copy of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at online retailer GRUV. Lastly, the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are available for preorder at retailer Walmart.

2104 film The Boxtrolls comes to 4K in February

The 2014 Laika Studios stop-motion animated film “The Boxtrolls” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in standard and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook limited edition forms on February 28th via Shout! Factory.  The film, co-directed by Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi, featured the voice talents of Isaac Hempstead WrightBen Kingsley, Richard Ayoade, Nick Frost, Tracy Morgan, Jared Harris, and Toni Collette.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration.  Tech specs will include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and a new Dolby Atmos sound mix.  The 4K releases of the film in standard and SteelBook form will both come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.  The bonus materials set to be included with the releases are listed below.

Pixar film Soul on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in March

The 2020 Pixar film “Soul” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on March 23rd via Disney according to Home Media Magazine. The film, directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Kemp Powers, features the voice talents of Jamie FoxxTina FeyGraham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Phylicia Rashad, Donnell Rawlings, Questlove, and Angela Bassett. The tech specs for the release have yet to be detailed, but you should expect a 4K presentation with HDR10 and a Dolby Atmos sound mix. It is known that the releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K UHD Blu-ray will include its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. No retailers have yet listed either the 4K UHD Blu-ray or the Blu-ray for preorder, but stay tuned for an update.

It’s mentioned [here] that retailer Best Buy will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and that retailer Target will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray Gallery Booklet packaging release.
