A Nightmare on Elm Street 7-Film Collection is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 30th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. A limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook Library Case will also be available exclusively at Amazon (pictured below).

This collection includes the following seven films.

  • “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984) Theatrical and Uncut Versions
  • “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge” (1985)
  • “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” (1987)
  • “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master” (1988)
  • “A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child” (1989) Theatrical and Uncut Versions
  • “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare” (1991) in 2D & 3D
  • “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare” (1994)

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range for each movie. The films will also include a variety of Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release(s) will come with a digital copy of the films compatible with Movies Anywhere. Here are some specific details about the release, taken from the press release (issued today).

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 7-FILM COLLECTION FEATURING HORROR ICON FREDDY KRUEGER COMES TO 4K ULTRA HD™ 

The 4K collection including the original seven films will be released on September 30, 2025

Burbank, CA (August 7, 2025) – Freddy Krueger, the vengeful child killer burned alive by angry parents, returns to haunt the dreams of their children when this chilling 7-film saga becomes available as a 4K UHD collection for the first time.  From his first terrifying appearance on Elm Street to his resurrection through nightmares, Freddy unleashes horror across generations – where sleep is no escape, and dreams become deadly.

From New Line Cinema, the collection includes the original seven films –  A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985), A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988), A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989), Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991), and  Wes Craven’s New Nightmare (1994) – along with the uncut versions of A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Dream Child.  The collection also includes an alternate ending of Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare presented in anaglyph 3D and complete with 3D glasses in the physical collection.

The collection will be available in limited edition collectible SteelBook packaging and as a standard 4K collection and will be available to purchase on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc online and in-store at major retailers and available for purchase Digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home and more.

4K Ultra HD** showcases 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a wider color spectrum, offering consumers brighter, deeper, and more lifelike colors for a home entertainment viewing experience like never before.

The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray set is now available for preorder at Amazon, GRUV, and Walmart. The Amazon exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook Library Case, limited to 4000 units, is presently unavailable for preorder. However, stay tuned, and I’ll update this accordingly when it does come back. 1996 film The Long Kiss Goodnight on 4K in April

The 1996 film “The Long Kiss Goodnight” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 8th via Arrow Video. This release will come as a limited edition set. The film was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Shane Black. It starred Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick MalahideDavid Morse, and Brian Cox.

This features a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative approved by director Renny Harlin. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround, and lossless 2.0 stereo sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray limited edition is now available for preorder at Amazon. You can also preorder directly via Arrow Video’s website.

The 2-disc set will include a Blu-ray with bonus materials. The physical extras and bonus materials set to be included in this release are listed below.

The 1999 film Deep Blue Sea is coming to 4K in March

The 1999 film “Deep Blue Sea” will be released on March 18th via Arrow Video on 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and also Blu-ray Disc Limited Edition. Renny Harlin directed the film. This movie starred Samuel L. Jackson, Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michael Rapaport, Stellan Skarsgård, LL Cool J, Aida Turturro, Cristos, and Ronny Cox.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original camera negatives by Arrow Films approved by director Renny Harlin. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The Strangers: Chapter 1 comes to 4K and Blu-ray in July

The 2024 horror film “The Strangers: Chapter 1” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on July 23rd via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Renny Harlin, stars Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart and a digital copy included. The Blu-ray release will also come as a “combo pack” with its DVD counterpart and a digital copy included. The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc releases are now available for preorder at Amazon. It’s most certainly worth noting that a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will be available as an exclusive at retailer Walmart (pictured below) which is also now available for preorder. It will be available on the same day [7/23].

The 1995 film “Cutthroat Island” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in an exclusive SteelBook release (available at Walmart) on April 2nd via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Renny Harlin, starred Geena Davis, Matthew Modine, Frank Langella, Maury Chaykin, Patrick Malahide, Stan Shaw, Rex Linn, and Paul Dillon.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusively available for preorder at retailer Walmart (pictured below).
