The 2026 film Send Help is coming to 4K in April

The 2026 psychological thriller “Send Help” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 21st via 20th Century Studios (Disney).

Sam Raimi directed the movie, which stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. This release will be a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital code (copy) will be included, which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

NOTE: No individual Blu-ray Disc release will be available for this movie. Just the 4K UHD Blu-ray / Blu-ray combo pack.

Mean Girls [2004] gets a standard 4K in February

The 2004 film “Mean Girls” will get a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on February 17th via Paramount. Mark Waters directed the movie, produced by Lorne Michaels, featuring a screenplay written by Tina Fey. It starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Amy Poehler, Tim Meadows, Daniel Franzese, Lizzy Caplan, and Tina Fey.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The release will include a digital code (copy) compatible with AppleTV and Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU).

The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials included on the release are listed below.

The 2015 film Southpaw comes to 4K in December

The 2015 film “Southpaw“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, as an Amazon exclusive, on December 9th via Lionsgate. Antoine Fuqua directed the film. It starred Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker, Curtis Jackson (“50 Cent“), and Naomie Harris. NOTE: This will be the first time the movie has been available on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy of the film.

2004 version of Mean Girls is coming to 4K in April

According to retailers, the 2004 original version of the film “Mean Girls” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition release on April 30th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, celebrating its 20th anniversary, was directed by Mark Waters, and starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, and Amanda Seyfried.

The release’s tech specs and bonus materials have yet to be announced but stay tuned for an update. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder now over at Amazon. This will be a limited edition release with special packaging, shown below.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 4K and Blu-ray

The 2022 film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on July 26th, via Marvel Studios (Disney).  The film, directed by Sam Raimi, stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, and Rachel McAdams.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound.  The 4K UHD Blu-ray release will include its Blu-ray counterpart and both will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.

UPDATE:  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  It’s certainly worth noting that there will also be an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) available over at retailer Best Buy, which is now up for preorder.

UPDATES:  It turns out that retailer Target will also be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray Art Edition of the film (pictured below) which is now available for preorder.

2015 film The Little Prince arrives on Blu-ray in February

The 2015 stop-motion animated film “The Little Prince” is coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the very first time in North America, on February 9th via Paramount. The film, directed by Mark Osborne, featured a voice cast that included the talents of Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Bud Cort, Benicio Del Toro, James Franco, Ricky Gervais, Paul Giamatti, Riley Osborne, Albert Brooks, and Mackenzie Foy. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect the studio [Paramount] to very likely officially announce this title next week. Stay tuned for an update regarding the tech specs and bonus materials. It is known, from the art (pictured above) that the release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray listed to preorder over at Amazon.

Doctor Strange on 4K UHD Blu-ray in October

The 2016 Marvel Studios film “Doctor Strange“ starring Benedict Cumberbatch sure seems to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 1st via Marvel (Disney), according to multiple retailer listings. The film, part of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” and directed by Scott Derrickson, co-starred Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray and a digital code (copy) of the film included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Retailer Best Buy will be getting a 4K Exclusive Steelbook release of the film (pictured below) which is available for pre-order as well.

The bonus materials set to be included on the release will be identical to those found on the previous Blu-ray, as they actually use that disc for the extras. No new extras will be included on this 4K release.

Tech specs for the release include full 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The title is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon. No bonus materials are set to be included on this “combo pack” release which includes the Blu-ray Disc, DVD and Digital Copy (via Movies Anywhere).
