2018 film “The Predator” coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray this winter

the_predator_2018_4k

In an early alert to retailers we’ve got an indication when to expect the new 2018 Shane Black directed film “The Predator” on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc, and that is sometime this winter (before the year end) via Fox Home Entertainment. This isn’t even a rumor, it’s stated in the working (not final) cover art pictured above. The film just hit theaters today, so go out and give it a watch tonight. No information yet regarding the technical specs or bonus materials for either the 4K or Blu-ray releases. I’d personally speculate you’ll see this get a December release, but stay tuned for any rumors or official update on the exact release date.

It is known that retailer Best Buy will be getting an Exclusive Steelbook for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the film (pictured below). You can PRE-ORDER this 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook now over at Best Buy. Again, no exact release date has been announced (yet). You can also PRE-ORDER the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc versions of the film over at retailer Best Buy. Lastly, it’s worth noting that Amazon and other retailers don’t seem to be listing it yet. Below, after the break, you can find the artwork (perhaps not finalized) for the 4K Steelbook and Blu-ray versions of the film.

DEAL ALERT! “Predator” and “Bad Boys I & II” on 4K UHD Blu-ray cheap at Walmart

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I was browsing through my local Walmart this morning, passing by the electronics section, when I noticed some titles at the main display were on sale for prices considerably cheaper than at other retailers. Long story short here: it turns out that Predator on 4K UHD Blu-ray is just $17.96 (in store ONLY) and Bad Boys I & II on 4K UHD Blu-ray set is just $27.96 (a penny cheaper online). It’s odd for “Predator” though, because Walmart’s website shows the price online as $19.89 online (the same as another retailer). So that title must be only available for that price if you pick it up in the store.

FOX also plans to bring “Predator 3-Movie Collection” to 4K UHD Blu-ray in August

predator_3-_movie_collection_4K

It sure seems that Fox Home Entertainment also plans to bring a “Predator 3-Movie Collection” to 4K UHD Blu-ray on the same date as the first film, August 7th. The collection will include the films “Predator” (1987), “Predator 2” (1990), and “Predators” (2010). Those films were directed by John McTiernanStephen Hopkins, and Nimród Antal. Tech specs and bonus materials have not yet been detailed, as the studio has yet to even officially announce either this or the individual release of the first film – as I had previously reported on.

I actually found this just browsing around, and at this point I wouldn’t even call it a “rumor” anymore, as we well know that the first film is coming, but now get a confirmation (of sorts) via a PRE-ORDER listing over at Amazon for this, carrying the exact same release date (8/7). Stay tuned for further updates. Also remember that the first film, “Predator“, is (as mentioned) getting its own individual release on 4K UHD Blu-ray.

UPDATE: It appears that we are going to also see individual releases for both sequels “Predator 2” and “Predators” on 4K UHD Blu-ray as well. No pre-order listings are available yet on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update when they become available. The artwork for the two titles can be found below.
