Tech specs for the releases include 2160p 4K video presentations, with presumably at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The aspect ratios will be 1.85:1 for “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” and 2.35:1 for the latter two sequels. Audio will be presented in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo for all three films.
The bonus materials have not yet been officially announced. It has been hinted by Justin Beahm that his Reverend Entertainment is working on some new bonus materials for the “Halloween: Resurrection” film specifically. But, again, the special features are “in progress” and will be announced later. So, stay tuned for an update on both.
This 4K set will come in the form of an 8-disc set with each film getting its own thick packaging and individual array cases (pictured below) with the Blu-ray Disc counterparts, housed inside a larger thick cardboard case. The 1999 film “200 Cigarettes“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 15th via Paramount Home Entertainment, as a MOD (manufactured-on-demand) release. The film, directed by Risa Bramon Garcia, starred Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Dave Chappelle, Guillermo Díaz, Angela Featherstone, Janeane Garofalo, Gaby Hoffmann, Kate Hudson, Courtney Love, Jay Mohr, Martha Plimpton, Christina Ricci, and Paul Rudd.
The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation (presumably in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio) and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound on a BD-25 disc. It has not been clarified if these discs will be pressed or burnt but you’ll be able to preorder the Blu-ray MOD release directly via Movie Znyg. Also, you’ll be able to buy the Blu-ray over at retailer Walmart.com, where it’s now available for preorder. No bonus materials will be included with this release.
NOTE: This will mark the debut of this film on the Blu-ray Disc format. It has never been available in HD on home video until this upcoming release.
There will be a “Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection“ on 4K UHD Blu-ray as a gift set coming on February 1st, 2022, to celebrate the home video release of the latest film in the franchise, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The box set will physically include the following three films:
“Ghostbusters” (1984)
“Ghostbusters II” (1989)
“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2021)
MAJOR UPDATE: Sony has just informed me that digitally this set will include the aforementioned films as well as “Ghostbusters” (2016) — but, only in digital form (via code on a paper insert). The other three films will come in the form of a “combo pack” with each receiving its Blu-ray Disc [physical] counterpart.
This set will come with some excellent physical extras, including:
A collectible “ghost trap” packaging with lights
A full 220-page reprint of the rare 1985 “Making GHOSTBUSTERS” book
And, this set will [for now exclusively] also include new versions of the first two “Ghostbusters” films on 4K that now feature Dolby Vision form of high dynamic range as well as HDR10 (each) in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio, along with Dolby Atmos sound. The 2015 stop-motion animated film “The Little Prince” is coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the very first time in North America, on February 9th via Paramount. The film, directed by Mark Osborne, featured a voice cast that included the talents of Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Bud Cort, Benicio Del Toro, James Franco, Ricky Gervais, Paul Giamatti, Riley Osborne, Albert Brooks, and Mackenzie Foy. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect the studio [Paramount] to very likely officially announce this title next week. The film, part of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” and directed by Peyton Reed, co-starred Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, and Michael Peña. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray and a digital code (copy) of the film included. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now available for pre-order over at Amazon and at Best Buy. Speaking of retailer Best Buy, they will be getting a 4K Exclusive Steelbook release of the film (pictured below) which is available for pre-order as well.

The 2019 Marvel Studios film “Avengers: Endgame” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 13th via Marvel (Disney). The film, directed by Anthony Russo & Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Brie Larson, Tom Holland, and Josh Brolin. This movie set a record during its theatrical run, which has now been extended, grossing over 2.7 billion (so far) worldwide. The film also has received much critical-acclaimed and carries a “Certified Fresh” rating (at time of writing) over at Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. The scenes shot in IMAX will NOT be presented in their correct aspect ratio and sadly, will not expand to fill the screen. This and some other shortcomings of this release have been discussed already by our friend John Archer over at Forbes. Both releases will come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each comes with a digital copy of the film. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray of the film now available for pre-order over at Best Buy. Stay tuned for an update when Amazon correctly lists the title on both formats. There will also be an exclusive4K Steelbook release (pictured below) available over at retailer Best Buy which is now available for pre-order. The two Marvel Studios sequels “Captain America: The Winter Soldier“ and “Captain America: Civil War“ are both coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 23rd, via Disney – according to an early alert to retailers. The titles had been said to be coming but we now finally get them both listed with release date and pre-order listings for each over at Best Buy.
UPDATE: The two titles on 4K are both now listed for pre-order over at Amazon – HERE and HERE. Those listings even include glimpses at the back of the packaging where we get the tech specs. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be presented in the 2.40:1 aspect (as originally on Blu-ray), while “Captain America: Civil War” will be presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio (unlike the original Blu-ray). Both films will receive HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The bonus materials set to be included for each film can be found on the original Blu-ray releases. No new extras will be included on the 4K discs.
