Animated film GOAT comes to 4K and Blu-ray in May

NBA superstar Stephen Curry produced the Sony Pictures Animation film, directed by Tyree Dillihay and co-directed by Adam Rosette. It features the voices of Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson.

It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is both “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p UHD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), high dynamic range, with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The 4K and Blu-ray releases will each also come with a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 Illumination animated sequel “The Secret Life of Pets 2” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 27th via Universal, according to multiple retail listings. The film, directed by Chris Renaud and Jonathan del Val, features the voice talents of Patton OswaltKevin HartHarrison Ford, Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Tiffany Haddish, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, and Nick Kroll. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio presented in HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The technical specifications for the Blu-ray release include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and both receiving a digital copy (digital code) of the film. Critically acclaimed 2018 film “Sorry to Bother You” comes to Blu-ray in October

The 2018 Boots Riley written and directed film Sorry to Bother You  starring Lakeith Stanfield is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 23rd via Fox Home Entertainment. The film, at time of writing this, is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes where its carrying a 93% rating based on the critics’ reviews. This comedy co-stars Tessa Thompson, Jermaine FowlerOmari HardwickTerry CrewsDanny GloverSteven YeunArmie HammerForest Whitaker, and also features the voices of David CrossPatton Oswalt, and Lily James.

Tech specs include full 1080p video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film being included.
