Ace Ventura: Pet Detective comes to 4K in July

The 1994 film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective comes July 29th to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook. These releases will be part of Shout! Studios‘ Shout Select line. Tom Shadyac directed the movie, which starred Jim Carrey. It also starred Courteney Cox, Sean Young, Tone Loc, Dan Marino, and Noble Willingham.

The movie has received a new 4K transfer from the 35mm original camera negative. The technical specifications include a 2160p 4K video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range. It will also include lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound. Both 4K releases will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included (featuring the new 4K transfer).

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is sold out on Amazon right now, but check back for an update. The 1991 film “Career Opportunities” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 22nd via KL Studio Classics. The movie was directed by Bryan Gordon and written & produced by John Hughes. It starred Jennifer ConnellyFrank WhaleyDermot MulroneyJohn CandyKieran MulroneyBarry CorbinJohn M. JacksonJenny O’Hara, and Noble Willingham.

The motion picture has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

1989 film Blind Fury with Rutger Hauer comes to Blu-ray

The 1989 action film Blind Fury starring Rutger Hauer is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 12th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. This will be the first time that the film has been individually available on the format, here in North America. It had been previously released in a 3-film collection back in 2017. The film, directed by Phillip Noyce, co-starred Terry O’QuinnBrandon Call, Noble Willingham, Lisa Blount, Nick Cassavetes, Rick Overton, Meg Foster, a Randall ‘Tex’ Cobb. Tech specs and bonus materials (if any) for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for a possible update on that. The release will come in a retro VHS-style slipcover form of packaging (pictured above). You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon — with commissions earned.
