The 2019 Bong Joon Ho directed film “Parasite“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 2nd, via Universal, according to retailers. The film, winner of 4 Academy Awards (including Best Picture), was previously released on Blu-ray earlier this year. The tech specs for the 4K release includes a video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range and Korean Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-100 (100 gigabytes disc). The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus material, comprised of a Q&A with Director Bong Joon Ho, will be identical to the previous Blu-ray but will also be presented in 4K resolution on the 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc. It’s lastly worth noting that The Criterion Collection also has plans to release this film in their collection on the Blu-ray format at some point later this year.
