Milla Jovovich in Monster Hunter on 4K and Blu-ray March

The 2020 film adaptation of “Monster Hunter” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 2nd via Sony. The film, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, stars Milla Jovovich, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung, Tony Jaa, and Ron Perlman. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 4K video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include an HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. Yes, the Dolby Atmos is exclusive it seems to the 4K release. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will include a digital code (copy) of the film. Resident Evil Limited Edition Collection on 4K

A “Resident Evil Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Collection“ is headed to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format in a box set on November 17th, via Sony, according to retailers and even the studio. In fact, I’m awaiting a full press release officially announcing the set later tomorrow. For now, let’s discuss what all will be included. You will get all six of the films in the live-action “Resident Evil” franchise, starring Milla Jovovich. Those films include:

“Resident Evil” (2002), “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” (2004), “Resident Evil: Extinction” (2007), “Resident Evil: Afterlife” (2010), “Resident Evil: Retribution” (2012), and “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” (2016).

This set comes in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include the Blu-ray Disc counterparts of each film as well as digital codes (copies) for the six films. You can find the Limited Edition Collection 4K set already available for preorder over at Amazon.

2019 “Hellboy” film comes to 4K and Blu-ray in July

The 2019 “Hellboy“ film starring David Harbour is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on July 23rd via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Neil Marshall, co-stars Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Daniel Dae Kim, and Thomas Haden Church. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and each getting a digital copy of the film. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc now both listed for pre-order over at Amazon. UPDATE: Now let’s talk exclusives. First, retailer Best Buy will also be getting an exclusive 4K Steelbook release (pictured below) which is now available for pre-order. Next, there’s also going to be an exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook release (pictured below) available over at retailer Target which is not yet available for pre-order but stay tuned for an update.
