Magnum P.I. The Complete Series on Blu-ray in March

The 1980 original TV show Magnum, P.I.: The Complete Series is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a box set on March 22nd, 2022 via Mill Creek Entertainment. The show, created by Donald P. Bellisario & Glen A. Larson, starred Tom Selleck, John Hillerman, Roger E. Mosley, and Larry Manetti. This will be the very first time that the show has been available on the Blu-ray format and it also has received a restoration, as noted on the back of the packaging (and below).

“… fully restored in high definition for the first time.”

Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.33:1 (4×3) aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound, spanning across a 30-disc set. You can now find the Blu-ray set available for preorder over at Amazon. No bonus materials appear to be included with this release.

Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain gets a Blu-ray

The 1995 film “Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain” is finally making its Blu-ray debut on March 9th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. This will be the first time this film has been available on the Blu-ray Disc format in any region, not just in North America. The film, directed by Kevin James Dobson, starred Christina RicciAnna ChlumskyPolly Draper, Brian Kerwin, Diana ScarwidDavid Keith, Gillian Barber, and Jewel Staite. The tech specs have not yet been detailed and no word yet if the release will include bonus materials. The 1992 film “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot” starring Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty is making its debut to Blu-ray on March 9th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. This will be the first time this movie has been available in North America on the Blu-ray format. The film, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, co-starred JoBeth Williams, Roger Rees, Martin Ferrero, and Ving Rhames. The tech specs have not yet been detailed and no word yet on if this release will contain any bonus materials. 1994 film The Cowboy Way comes to Blu-ray in February

The 1994 film The Cowboy Way” starring Woody Harrelson and Kiefer Sutherland is coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the first time, on February 16th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. The film, directed by Gregg Champion, co-starred Dylan McDermott, Ernie Hudson, Cara Buono, Marg Helgenberger, Tomas Milian, and Luis Guzmán. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed and nor have bonus materials — if any will be included. Stay tuned for a possible update on that. 1986 film Crossroads with Ralph Macchio on Blu-ray January

The 1986 film “Crossroads” starring Ralph Macchio is coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the very first time, on January 12th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. The film, directed by Walter Hill, co-starred Joe SenecaJami Gertz, Joe Morton, and Steve Vai. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed. 1989 film Blind Fury with Rutger Hauer comes to Blu-ray

The 1989 action film Blind Fury starring Rutger Hauer is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 12th, 2021, via Mill Creek Entertainment. This will be the first time that the film has been individually available on the format, here in North America. It had been previously released in a 3-film collection back in 2017. The film, directed by Phillip Noyce, co-starred Terry O’QuinnBrandon Call, Noble Willingham, Lisa Blount, Nick Cassavetes, Rick Overton, Meg Foster, a Randall ‘Tex’ Cobb. Tech specs and bonus materials (if any) for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for a possible update on that. The release will come in a retro VHS-style slipcover form of packaging (pictured above). You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon — with commissions earned.

1985 film The New Kids comes to Blu-ray in August

The 1985 dramatic thriller The New Kids is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 13th via Mill Creek Entertainment in a retro VHS style packaging (pictured above). The film was directed by Sean S. Cunningham and co-written by Stephen Gyllenhaal. This cult-classic featured a cast of some memorable eighties actors like Shannon PresbyLori LoughlinJames Spader, Eric Stoltz, and Tom Atkins. Tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been detailed but I’ve reached out to the distributor (Mill Creek) for that info, so stay tuned. No word about any bonus materials either, so I’m guessing there will not be any included. The Blu-ray Disc is now available for pre-order over at Amazon.

IMAX film Space Station on 4K UHD Blu-ray in July

The 2002 Toni Myers directed IMAX original film Space Station is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 9th, via Mill Creek Entertainment. The short film, also known as “Space Station 3D” during its original release, is narrated by Tom Cruise and features mostly footage shot onboard the International Space Station (ISS) by NASA astronauts. The tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video from a new 4K transfer in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound which has been IMAX Enhanced. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the short film. The IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

Mini-series Lonesome Dove on Blu-ray Steelbook July

The 1989 TV mini-series Lonesome Dove is getting a Special Edition Blu-ray Disc Steelbook release on July 9th via Mill Creek Entertainment. The mini-series featured an extraordinary cast of Robert DuvallTommy Lee JonesDanny Glover, Diane Lane, Robert Urich, Frederic Forrest, D.B. Sweeney, Ricky Schroder, Anjelica Huston, Chris Cooper, Barry Corbin, Barry Tubb, and Steve Buscemi. The tech specs for the new Blu-ray will be identical to the 2015 release, including 1080p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. This new Special Edition Blu-ray Steelbook is not yet available to pre-order but there is a placeholder page over at Amazon. A digital copy of the mini-series will be included with the Blu-ray. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

1961 sci-fi Mothra getting a Blu-ray Steelbook in July

The 1961 science fiction classic Mothra is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc, in a Steelbook, on July 9th via Mill Creek Entertainment. The film, directed by Ishiro Honda, featured a cast of Frankie Sakai, Hiroshi Koizumi, Kyoto Kagawa, and Ken Uehara. This is the first time the film has been available in the United States on the Blu-ray format. The Blu-ray Steelbook of Mothra is available now for pre-order over at Amazon.

UPDATE: Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio (presumably in Mono) for both English and Japanese tracks – including English and Japanese subtitles.
