The 2020 TV series “The Haunting of Bly Manor“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 12th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The TV series, as seen streaming on Netflix and created by Mike Flanagan, starred Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Amelia Eve, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Tahirah Sharif, Amelie Bea Smith, Kate Siegel, and Henry Thomas.
The tech specs for the Blu-ray set have not yet been detailed but you can expect 1080p HD video in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with likely a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix, spanning across a 3-disc set (as the artwork’s spine indicates). It’s also worth noting that there will be “The Haunting: 2-Series Collection“ set on Blu-ray Disc available on the same day (October 12th) which combines the first season of the series (technically) “The Haunting of Hill House” with the latter (second) season. The 2019 sequel “Doctor Sleep” starring Ewan McGregor is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 4th via Warner. The film, a sequel to The Shining based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Mike Flanagan, co-stars Rebecca Ferguson, Kyliegh Curran, Cliff Curtis, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Selena Anduze, Robert Longstreet, Carel Struycken, Carl Lumbly, Henry Thomas, Bruce Greenwood, Alex Essoe, and Roger Dale Floyd. It should be noted that, at the time of writing, the film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes. Both the 4K and Blu-ray release will include a “Director’s Cut” of the film, in addition to the theatrical version – on the Blu-ray Disc.
Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include video in the 1.78:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases of the film will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each getting a digital code (copy) of the film included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray Disc of the film are both now available for preorder over at Amazon. It should be also noted that there will also be an exclusiveSteelBook 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the film available over at retailer Best Buy (pictured below) which is now available for preorder.
