The 2018 visual effects driven film “Higher Power” from director Matthew Santoro is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc on August 14th via Magnet Releasing (Magnolia Home Entertainment). This news comes in an early alert to retailers. It’s worth noting that this will actually be the first 4K UHD Blu-ray release for Magnet and Magnolia. Tech specs for the release include full 2160p 4K video with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” including a Blu-ray Disc of the film. It’s available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon. No word yet on bonus materials set to be included on the release, but stay tuned for an update.

The film’s director has a pretty impressive list of IMDb credits as a visual effects artist on such films as “300” (2006), “X-Men: The Last Stand” (2006), “The Incredible Hulk” (2008), and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” (2009). The trailer originally caught some folks attention back earlier in the year, as you’ll see discussed in an article over on Gizmodo discussing the director’s previous VFX work. With that being said, further below, after the break, you can find the official trailer for the film.
