The 2008 adaptation of Speed Racer comes to 4K in May

The movie was co-directed, and the adaptation was co-written by The Wachowskis, Lana Wachowski, and Lilly Wachowski. The movie starred Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Fox, and Richard Roundtree.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), high dynamic range, and Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The standard 4K and 4K SteelBook will each come with a digital code (copy) of the movie compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The standard 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured above) is now available for preorder at Amazon. The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is currently sold out at Amazon, GRUV, and Walmart. Stay tuned for an update if they come back in stock. The finalized retail packaging for it has yet to be officially unveiled, as it’s currently using temporary art. Paramount Scares Volume 2 comes to 4K in October

The “Paramount Scares: Volume 2” limited edition box set on 4K UHD Blu-ray is officially coming on October 1st via Paramount Home Entertainment. The set will include the following four films, with the first three making their debut on the 4K physical media format:

  • “Breakdown” (1997)
  • “Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981)
  • “Orphan: First Kill” (2022)
  • “World War Z” (2013)

“Breakdown” from 1997, directed and co-written by Jonathan Mostow, starred Kurt Russell, J.T. Walsh, and Kathleen Quinlan. “Friday the 13th Part 2” from 1981, directed by Steve Miner, starred Amy Steel, John Furey, Adrienne King, Kristen Baker, Stuart Charno, Walt Gorney, Tom McBride, Bill Randolph, Lauren-Marie Taylor, Russell Todd, and Betsy Palmer. “Orphan: First Kill” from 2022, directed by William Brent Bell, starred Isabelle Fuhrman, Julia Stiles, Rossif Sutherland, Hiro Kanagawa, Matthew Finlan, and Lauren Cochrane. “World War Z” from 2013, directed by Marc Forster, based on the novel by Max Brooks, starred Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, Fana Mokoena, David Morse, and Sterling Jerins.

The tech specs for the releases include 2160p video presentations with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with lossless sound mixes. Each film will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included along with a digital copy. The film “World War Z” will include the UNRATED cut.
