The Fantastic Four: First Steps on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2025 film “The Fantastic 4: First Steps” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, 4K UHD Blu-ray, and Blu-ray on October 14th via Marvel Studios / Disney. Matt Shakman directed this Marvel Cinematic Universe [“MCU”] movie. It stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Julia Garner, Ralph Ineson, Natasha Lyonne, and Paul Walter Hauser. It’s worth noting that the movie is currently “Certified Fresh” by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K releases will each come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K and Blu-ray releases will include a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Thunderbolts* on 4K and Blu-ray in July

The 2025 film “Thunderbolts*” officially arrives on 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray Disc on July 29th. The releases will be via Marvel Studios, owned and distributed by Disney. Jake Schreier directed this latest film in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe.” It stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Lewis Pullman, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Captain America: Brave New World 4K and Blu-ray

“Captain America: Brave New World” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on May 13th via Marvel Studios (Disney). Julius Onah directed the movie, which stars Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford. It co-stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Several other versions will be released. First off, a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will also be available (pictured below).

Icons Unearthed: Marvel comes to Blu-ray in January

The 2023 documentary series “Icons Unearthed: Marvel” will be available on Blu-ray Disc on January 14th via Mill Creek Entertainment. The Nacelle Company 8-episode series, directed by Brian Volk-Weiss and narrated by Joseph Culp, focuses on the history of Marvel Comics as a company and eventually as Marvel Studios with the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” series of films. This includes interviews with Lou Ferrigno, Clark Gregg, J. Michael Straczynski, Todd MacFarlane, Mark Millar, Zack Stentz, Victoria Bennett, JJ Field, and Jeph Loeb.

The tech specs for the release include a 3-disc set featuring a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials included with the release are briefly detailed below.

Hawkeye The First Season comes to 4K in December

The 2023 Marvel Studios film “The Marvels” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 13th via Disney.  The film, the latest in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” was directed by Nia DaCosta, and it stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and  Samuel L.
