The 2006 Richard Kelly film “Southland Tales” will be officially getting a Limited Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray release from Arrow Video on January 26th, 2021. The film, previously released on the format back in 2008, will now feature a new 2K video restoration that was “approved by director Richard Kelly and director of photography Steven Poster.” Tech specs for the Limited Edition Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD presentation in the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio with the original lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and PCM 2.0 Stereo sound mixes. This release will include both the film’s 145-minute Theatrical cut and also the 160-minute “Cannes” cut — as shown at the Cannes Film Festival. The film’s cast included Dwayne Johnson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott, Justin Timberlake, John Larroquette, Jon Lovitz, Wood Harris, Christopher Lambert, Amy Poehler, Cheri Oteri, Will Sasso, Wallace Shawn, Mandy Moore, Beth Grant, Zelda Rubinstein, and Kevin Smith.

The 2019 Roland Emmerich directed film “Midway” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 18th via Lionsgate. The film, which was based on real events, features a cast of Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans, Nick Jonas, Mandy Moore, Dennis Quaid, Aaron Eckhart, and Woody Harrelson. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The technical specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K including the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting a DVD counterpart, and both including a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray of the film available for preorder over at Amazon. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The 2018 Sci-Fi Thriller “The Darkest Minds” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 30th via Fox Home Entertainment, according to an early alert to retailers. The Jennifer Yuh Nelson directed film is based on the Alexandra Bracken novel, and its cast includes Skylan Brooks, Amandla Stenberg, Harris Dickinson, Miya Cech, Mandy Moore, Gwendoline Christie, and Bradley Whitford.
The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K release getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray release getting a DVD included, and both getting a Digital Copy of the film. The film is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc. Tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not yet been detailed, as the studio hasn’t even officially announced this yet in form of press release. That being said, stay tuned for further details regarding this release.
UPDATE: The cover art has been updated on retailers (as pictured) now, and it appears the Blu-ray release will include a “friendship bracelet” exclusively.
