2017 film Wind River gets 4K SteelBook in September

The 2017 film “Wind River” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 10th via Lionsgate as an exclusive to retailer Walmart. The film, written & directed by Taylor Sheridan, starred Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Julia Jones, Gil Birmingham, and Graham Greene. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless sound. John Wick Chapters 1-3 4K SteelBook Set at Walmart

The “John Wick Chapters 1-3: Stash Book Collection – SteelBook Box Set” will be available exclusively at retailer Walmart on July 31st via Lionsgate. The set includes the first three films in the franchise:

  • “John Wick” (2014)
  • “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017)
  • “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019)

It will not include the fourth film (chapter) in the franchise. All three films star Keanu Reeves as the title character. Tech specs for each film include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” will include the Dolby Vision form of high dynamic range.

The SteelBook Box Set (pictured below) will include some exclusive bonus materials such as featurettes and audio commentary tracks along with some physical extras in the form of 2 photo cards.

The 2024 horror film “The Strangers: Chapter 1” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on July 23rd via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Renny Harlin, stars Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart and a digital copy included. The Blu-ray release will also come as a “combo pack” with its DVD counterpart and a digital copy included. The 2023 film “The Iron Claw” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 26th via Lionsgate. The film, written & directed by Sean Durkin, stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, and Lily James. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage on Blu-ray February

The 2023 film “Dream Scenario” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 27th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment, according to retailers.  The film, written & directed by Kristoffer Borgli, stars Nicolas Cage, Lily Bird, Julianne Nicholson, Jessica Clement, Tim Meadows, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Dylan Gelula, and Michael Cera.  It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have yet to be detailed but stay tuned for an update on that soon.  You can expect 1080p HD video in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio as well as lossless surround sound, likely in a 5.1 configuration.  Below, after the break, you can find the trailer for the film.

The 2023 sequel “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 13th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Viola Davis.  The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart and the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart included and each having a digital copy (code).  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon and Walmart (with the links at the top).

The 2022 sequel “Clerks III” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 6th via Lionsgate exclusively at retailer Best Buy.  NOTE: There will be a Blu-ray release of the film, as previously reported.  There had been some confusion regarding the release date for physical media but that has now been cleared up.

The film, written & directed by Kevin Smith, stars Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, and of course Kevin Smith (as “Silent Bob”).

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K video presentation and Dolby Atmos sound.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film.
