The 1999 film “The Haunting“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 20th via Paramount Presents. This release will be spine number 10 in the Paramount Presents line. The film, based on the novel by Shirley Jackson & directed by Jan de Bont, starred Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson, and Lili Taylor. The movie has received a new 4K transfer that was supervised by the director (as seen quoted below), however, tech specs for the release have not yet been fully detailed.
“The limited-edition Paramount Presents Blu-ray Disc™ is presented in collectible packaging that includes a foldout image of the film’s theatrical poster, and an interior spread with key movie moments. Newly remastered from a 4K film transfer supervised by Jan de Bont, THE HAUNTING Blu-ray also includes a new Filmmaker Focus with the director, access to a Digital copy of the film, as well as a the previously released vintage behind-the-scenes featurette hosted by Catherine Zeta-Jones, and original trailers.”

It is known that the release will come with a digital copy of the film, something new to the Paramount Presents titles. You can now find the Blu-ray is available for preorder over at Amazon. The remaining films in the “Star Wars” film franchise – so far – are all coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 31st it seems, via Disney, according to retailer listings. There will first be a very lavish, expensive box set available (seemingly exclusive) at retailer Best Buy called “The Skywalker Saga” (pictured above) which is now available for preorder. That Skywalker Saga set will include Episodes 1-9 of the films, as well as two Blu-ray Disc counterparts for each film, filled with bonus materials – yet to be detailed. Stay tuned for further details regarding this release as it develops.
Now, as of today, there also are most certainly individual releases for Episodes 1-7 coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 31st as well as the film “Rogue One – A Star Wars Story” (2016). It’s certainly worth noting that these titles are now all listed over at retailer Best Buy, individually. So, as you’d expect I’ll be listing the films coming out in theatrical chronological order with direct links to the Best Buy preorder listings – not yet functional but currently placeholder pages. UPDATED: I am now adding Amazon preorder listings to this post as they are getting listed.

The 2018 Steve McQueen directed film “Widows” is slated for release on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc formats February 5th, 2018 via Fox The film’s cast includes Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Jon Bernthal, Robert Duvall, and Liam Neeson. This film has received mostly positive reviews from critics. In fact, Widows is currently “Certified Fresh” (at time of writing) over at Rotten Tomatoes.
Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The technical specifications for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Each version will come in the form of a “comb pack” with the 4K release getting a Blu-ray, and the Blu-ray getting a DVD, with both include a Digital Copy of the film. You can pre-order either the 4K UHD Blu-ray or Blu-ray of the film over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be include on both releases are listed below.

The 1993 Steven Spielberg directed film “Schindler’s List” has received a 4K restoration which is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Universal – as a “25th Anniversary Edition” release. The film, which won a total of 7 Academy Awards, featured a cast of Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley, Embeth Davidtz, Caroline Goodall, and Jonathan Sagall.
Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray included (for bonus materials as well). Both the 4K and Blu-ray will include a Digital Copy of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray versions of the “25th Anniversary Edition” are now available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon. The Bonus materials will include new featurettes as well as the previous Blu-ray and DVD extras. The bonus materials set to be included can be found listed below.
