Talladega Nights gets a 20th anniversary 4K in August

The movie, directed and co-written by Adam McKay, produced by Judd Apatow, starred Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. It co-starred Leslie Bibb, Sacha Baron Cohen, Gary Cole, Amy Adams, Jane Lynch, David Koechner, and the late great Michael Clarke Duncan. The movie has become a cult classic over the past two decades, especially with the NASCAR community. This marks the first time that it has been available in 4K UHD on physical media.

The movie has received a new restoration from the original camera negative. It will include both the Theatrical (108-minute) and UNRATED (122-minute) cuts of the movie in 4K. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range along with new Dolby Atmos and the previous lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound included. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterparts included for both versions of the film. A digital copy (code) compatible with Movies Anywhere will be included.

You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon or elsewhere, but stay tuned for an update on that. The bonus material included with the 4K SteelBook is listed below, sorted by disc.

Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 on Blu-ray in February

The 2024 film “Juror #2” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 4th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film was directed and produced by Clint Eastwood. The cast includes Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Messina, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough, Leslie Bibb, Amy Aquino, and Adrienne C. Moore. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come with a digital copy, presumed compatible with Movies Anywhere. No bonus materials will be included with this release. Trick ‘r Treat comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in October

The 2007 film “Trick ‘r Treat” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition set on October 29th via Arrow Video. The film, written & directed by Michael Dougherty, starred Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, Rochelle Aytes, Lauren Lee Smith, Moneca Delain, Tahmoh Penikett, Brett Kelly, Britt McKillip, Samm Todd, and Leslie Bibb.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration by Arrow Films, approved by writer-director Michael Dougherty. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound.

UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition is now available for preorder at Amazon. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition set available for preorder directly via Arrow Video’s website. As mentioned, the 4K physical media release will come as a limited edition set, and include the following physical extras (pictured below).

The 2009 F. Gary Gray directed film Law Abiding Citizen starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 6th via Lionsgate. Tech specs for the release include 2160p 4K video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.
