The 1974 film adaptation of “Murder on the Orient Express” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 24th via KL Studio Classics. The film, directed by Sidney Lumet, was based on the novel of the same title (written by Agatha Christie. It featured an all-star cast that included Albert Finney, Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave, Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam, Jacqueline Bisset, Jean-Pierre Cassel, John Gielgud, Wendy Hiller, Rachel Roberts, Richard Widmark, and Michael York. It’s worth noting that this film is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

This release features a “brand new HDR/Dolby Vision Master, from a 4K Scan of the 35mm original camera negative.” The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The Blu-ray included will feature the new 4K master and bonus materials.
