The 1985 horror/comedy film “The Stuff” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition on July 22nd via Arrow Video. Larry Cohen wrote and directed the movie. It starred Michael Moriarty, Andrea Marcovicci, Garrett Morris, Scott Bloom, Danny Aiello, and Patrick O’Neal.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will feature lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono sound. This release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The Blu-ray will feature a “pre-release” cut of the film, presented in 1080p HD, exclusively remastered by Arrow Films.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition is now available for preorder at Amazon and directly via the Arrow Video website. The bonus materials included with this limited edition set are listed below.

Blaxploitation Classics Vol. 1 comes to 4K in May

“Blaxploitation Classics Vol. 1” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 20th via Shout Select (Shout! Studios). This release will include a total of six films in a 12-disc set.

The release will come as a “combo pack” with each 4K receiving its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. All of the films have received new 4K scans and restorations. The tech specs on the 4K release feature a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio for each film. They include Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and DTS-HD Master Audio Mono sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray versions include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio for each film and DTS-HD Master Audio Mono.

The 1976 film God Told Me To is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 19th via Blue Underground.  The cult classic, written and directed by the late Larry Cohen, starred Tony Lo Bianco, Deborah Raffin, Sandy Dennis, Sylvia Sidney, Sam Levene, Robert Drivas, Mike Kellin, Richard Lynch, and Andy Kaufman.

This comes from a “new 4K restoration from the original uncensored negative.”  Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 1.0 Mono sound mixes.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include a Blu-ray Disc of the film, also using the new 4K restoration.

1996 horror film Uncle Sam comes to 4K in June

The 1996 horror film Uncle Sam is officially coming to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format on June 21st via Blue Underground.  The film, directed by William Lustig and written by the late Larry Cohen, starred Bo Hopkins, Timothy Bottoms, Robert Forster, P.J. Soles, William Smith, and Isaac Hayes.

This comes from a new 4K restoration, as noted below.

“… UNCLE SAM in a sparkling new 25th Anniversary restoration, scanned in 4K 16-bit from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, loaded with illuminating Extras!”
