Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi on 4K SteelBook in April

The 2022 Disney+ original “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Complete Series” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 30th via Disney. The series, directed by Deborah Chow, starred Ewan McGregor, Moses Ingram, Vivien Lyra Blair, Hayden Christensen, Sung Kang, Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jimmy Smits, with the voice of James Earl Jones.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, spanning across two BD-100 discs. The release will physically include 3 concept art cards (pictured above). There’s no digital copy or Blu-ray included with this release. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart but stay tuned for an update soon. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

Marvel’s Eternals comes to 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2021 Marvel Studios film “Eternals” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 15th, 2022 via Disney. The film, directed and co-written by Chloé Zhao, stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound. The 4K release of the film will come in the form of a “combo pack” including the Blu-ray counterpart, and both 4K and Blu-ray physical versions will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, of all places, but there’s no listing yet for the Blu-ray. Alternatively, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy, where they also will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below).

UPDATE: retailer Target will be getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray exclusive “Art Edition” release, which is now available for preorder (pictured below).

The bonus materials set to be included with both the 4K and Blu-ray physical releases are listed below.

Downey, Jr. as “Dolittle” on 4K and Blu-ray April

The 2020 film “Dolittle” starring Robert Downey, Jr. is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 7th, via Universal. The film, based on the story of “Dr. Dolittle” & directed by Stephen Gaghan, co-starred/featured the voice talents of Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Jim Broadbent, Emma Thompson, Rami Malek, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, Tom Holland, Craig Robinson, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, and Marion Cotillard. The tech specs for the 4K include video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound. The Twilight Zone with Jordan Peele on Blu-ray

The 2019 reboot of The Twilight Zone hosted by Jordan Peele, in its first season (Season One), will be getting a Blu-ray Disc release on February 18th, 2020 via Paramount, according to retailers. The show, which aired on CBS All Access, has been renewed for a second season (next year). Here, in its first season, the show featured cast members like Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Sanaa Lathan, Steven Yeun, Greg Kinnear, John Cho, Jacob Tremblay, DeWanda Wise, Taissa Farmiga, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chris O’Dowd, Zazie Beetz, and Seth Rogen. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, but it is known that it will be a 5-disc set – including all 10 episodes. I’ll be updating this story later on, once I get some more info regarding this release from the folks at Paramount (or CBS). Stay tuned.
