The 2011 film Bridesmaids is coming to 4K in May

The 2011 comedy Bridesmaids is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

It’s worth noting that the movie is celebrating its 15th Anniversary, with a majority of the cast having a reunion onstage at the 2026 Academy Awards just this past Sunday. Paul Feig directed the movie, which Kristen Wiig co-wrote, and Judd Apatow produced. It starred Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, and Melissa McCarthy. The supporting cast included Rebel Wilson, Chris O’Dowd, Matt Lucas, Tim Heidecker, and Terry Crews.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio, Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will be a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. This release will feature both the UNRATED [131 minutes] cut and the theatrical version [125 minutes], both in 4K. This will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Despicable Me 4 comes to 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2024 animated sequel “Despicable Me 4” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 24th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, co-directed by Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, features the voice talents of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Joey King, Miranda Cosgrove, Stephen Colbert, Sofía Vergara, and Will Ferrell.

Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The 4K and Blu-ray releases will come with a digital copy.

The 2021 film “Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 6th via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Josh Greenbaum, stars Kristen WiigAnnie MumoloJamie Dornan, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Phyllis Smith, Ian Gomez, Damon Wayans Jr., and Vanessa Bayer. It’s certainly worth noting, that at the time of writing this, the film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the original 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its DVD counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. DreamWorks animation “How to Train Your Dragon” and sequel on 4K in January

The DreamWorks animated film How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and its sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) are both coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 22nd, 2019 via Universal. Each film will be released individually, as learned from an early alert to retailers. Both films feature the voice talents of Jay BaruchelCate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-PlasseT.J. Miller, Kristen Wiig, and Gerard Butler. Tech specs for the 4K releases include 2160p video in the 2.35:1 with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound, on each film. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy of the film included.

You can find pre-order listings up for the 4K UHD Blu-ray versions of How to Train Your Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon 2 now over at Amazon.
