The 1998 movie “Dark City“ will get 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and Blu-ray Limited Edition sets on June 24th. The releases are via Arrow Video. Alex Proyas directed and co-wrote the film. The movie starred Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly, and Richard O’Brien. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes. This release will feature both the Director’s Cut and Theatrical Cut in either 4K or HD.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative. Director of photography Dariusz Wolski approved this. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10. It will consist of Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo lossless sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. It will also include Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD MA 5.1, and 2.0 sound. The 4K and Blu-ray releases will each come with two discs. There will be an additional 4K UHD Blu-ray or Blu-ray Disc. This addition is for both the director’s cut and the theatrical cut of the film. Each disc will also include extras.
