Small Soldiers comes to 4K SteelBook in July

The 1998 film “Small Soldiers” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on July 22nd via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Joe Dante directed this movie, which Adam Rifkin co-wrote. It starred Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Jay Mohr, Denis Leary, Kevin Dunn, Dick Miller, and Phil Hartman.

The tech specs for the 4K release have yet to be detailed. But, you should expect at least a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio in at least HDR10 and with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. Stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs as more information becomes available. This 4K SteelBook 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Although yet to be confirmed, a digital should also be included. Stay tuned for verification on that and the tech specs.

You can’t preorder this 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook yet at Amazon or Walmart. Still, they both already have listings, which should turn into functional preorders very soon. Again, stay tuned for an update on that as well. Below is a glimpse of the artwork, packaging, and discs.

The 1998 film Snake Eyes is coming to 4K in December

The 1998 film “Snake Eyes” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray Disc on December 17th via KL Studio Classics. Brian De Palma directed the film and it starred Nicolas CageGary SiniseJohn HeardCarla GuginoStan ShawKevin DunnMichael RispoliLuis GuzmanMike Starr, and Tamara Tunie.

The movie has received a new master from a 16-bit 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The 4K tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon and directly via Kino Lorber’s website. The 1999 film “Stir of Echoes” will get a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusively at Amazon on December 10th via Lionsgate. The film, directed and co-written by David Koepp, starred Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Erbe, Illeana Douglas, Kevin Dunn, Jennifer Morrison, and Zachary David Cope.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included along with a digital copy. Below is a glimpse at the artwork for the interior of the 4K SteelBook.

Veep The Complete Series on Blu-ray in late October

“Veep: The Complete Series” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 22nd via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, according to retail sources. The show ran for 7 seasons and it starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Matt Walsh, Gary Cole, and Kevin Dunn. Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The Blu-ray set is available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart, as well as the online retailer GRUV. The set will include hours of bonus materials from the seasons previously released on Blu-ray.
