Amazon Commissions Earned

The 2021 film “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 8th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, based on the popular “Resident Evil” video game franchise from CAPCOM, written & directed by Johannes Roberts, stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  Both releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film.  The 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray standard release and Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at Amazon.  There’s a reason that I said standard 4K release, as there will in fact be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available at all retailers (pictured below) which is also now available for preorder over at Amazon.

The bonus materials set to be included on all of the releases of the film on 4K and Blu-ray physically are listed below.

  • Replicating the DNA
  • Cops, Corpses and Chaos
  • Zombies, Lickers and the Horrors of Resident Evil

Further below, after the break, you can find the trailer for the film and the full announcement regarding the home video releases of the film.
