The Matrix Resurrections on 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2021 sequel “The Matrix Resurrections” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 8th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The film, co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski, stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and each version including a digital code (copy) of the film.

Disney’s Frozen II on 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2019 CG animated sequel “Frozen II” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 25th, via Disney. The film, co-directed by Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee, features the voice talents of Kristen BellIdina MenzelJosh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, and Jason Ritter. The film, nominated for one Academy Award (for best song), received mixed reactions from critics and at the time of writing (barely) carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the same 2.39:1 aspect and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting the DVD counterpart, and a digital code (copy) of the film included with each. UPDATED: The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both are now listed for order (yes, order) over at Amazon. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for order over at retailer Best Buy. Disney film Frozen on 4K UHD Blu-ray October

The 2013 animated film Frozen from Walt Disney Animation Studios appears to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 1st via Disney, according to retailers. The film, directed by Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee, featured the voice talents of Kristen BellIdina MenzelJonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Santino Fontana, and Alan Tudyk. Tech specs and bonus materials for the 4K release have yet to be detailed but stay tuned for an update on that. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray and a digital code (copy) of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available to pre-order over at Amazon and at retailer Best Buy. Best Buy will also be getting a 4K Exclusive Steelbook release (pictured below) which is available for pre-order as well.
