The 1967 film Point Blank on Criterion 4K in April

John Boorman directed the movie, which starred Lee Marvin. It co-starred Angie Dickinson, Keenan Wynn, Carroll O’Connor, Lloyd Bochner, Michael Strong, Sharon Acker, and John Vernon.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) with uncompressed Linear PCM Mono sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with LPCM Mono sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

This movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director John Boorman. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. Airplane II The Sequel on 4K in September

The 1982 film “Airplane II: The Sequel” is being released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray on September 23rd via KL Studio Classics.

Ken Finkleman directed and co-wrote the film. It starred Robert HaysJulie HagertyLloyd BridgesWilliam ShatnerPeter GravesRaymond Burr, and Chuck Connors. The cast also included Rip TornJohn DehnerChad EverettKent McCordJohn Vernon, and Sonny Bono.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The technical specifications for the 4K include a 2160p UHD visual presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, on a BD-100 disc. Audio on both the 4K and Blu-ray will be presented in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo. The Blu-ray will include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.

Three Clint Eastwood Films come to 4K in April

Three classic films starring Clint Eastwood are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 29th, via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The films include: “Dirty Harry” (1971), “Pale Rider” (1985), and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” (1976). 4K UHD Blu-ray and a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release will be available for each film (pictured above).

“Dirty Harry” was directed by Don Siegel. Both “Pale Rider” and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” were directed by Clint Eastwood. Dirty Harry co-starred Harry Guardino, Reni Santoni, and John Vernon. Pale Rider co-starred Michael Moriarty, Carrie Snodgress, and Chris Penn. The Outlaw Josey Wales” co-starred Sondra Locke, Bill McKinney, and John Vernon.

The tech specs on 4K are as follows. All films will include a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range. “Dirty Harry” will be presented in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. “Pale Rider” and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” will be presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio. All three will include a Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono lossless sound mix. A digital copy of each film will be included with the 4K release, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space arrives on 4K in May

The 1988 cult classic film “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 14th via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The movie, celebrating its 35th anniversary, was directed by Stephen Chiodo, and starred Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, John Vernon, Michael S. Siegel, Peter Licassi, and Royal Dano.

This release has received a new 4K scan of the original camera negative. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo audio configurations. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The House of Hitchcock Collection Blu-ray October

The House of Hitchcock Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray Disc box set is coming on October 1st, via Universal, according to retailers. The box set will include a total of 15 movies directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Those films, all previously available on the Blu-ray format, included in this set are listed below (in chronological order):
